Brecksville Reservation (aka Chippewa Creek) – Cleveland Metroparks
Climbing is not currently permitted in Brecksville or any other Cleveland Metroparks Reservations, with the exception of the Whipp’s Ledges area of the Hinckley Reservation (see below).

Climbing is permitted.
Chapin Forest – Lake Metroparks
Climbing is not currently permitted at Chapin Forest.
Cuyahoga Valley National Park
Climbing is not currently permitted in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

Hinckley Reservation – Cleveland Metroparks
Top-roping and bouldering are currently permitted only at the Whipp’s Ledges area of the Hinckley Reservation and a permit is required for both. To get a permit…
1. Contact Mike Barnhart (Cleveland Metro Parks, Manager of Visitor Services) at (216) 635-3264.
2. Provide your name, home address and email address (you can put your entire family on the same permit if they share your address).
3. Mike will email you a permit and waiver to sign.
4. Sign the permit and waiver and email them back to Mike with a copy of your renter/homeowner insurance showing $300K of personal liability coverage (if you are under 18, you can send a copy of your parents insurance).
5. Mike will email you a copy of the approved permit.
The process takes about 10 minutes. Permits are required for both roped climbing and bouldering at Whipp’s Ledges. Individual/family permits are free and are good for 1 year (they expire after Dec 31 of each year).
Logtown Quarry
Sport climbing, top-roping and bouldering are permitted.
